- Mark Robertson Moderates Panel at Fifth Annual ABA Homeland Security Law Institute, March 4, 2010
Mark Robertson moderated a panel discussion focusing on enhancing the integration of the SAFETY Act with federal procurements at the American Bar Association’s Fifth Annual Homeland Security Law Institute. The program, which took place March 4, 2010 in Washington, D.C., featured current and former government officials and industry representatives. The Homeland Security Law Institute is an annual program that addresses a variety of regulatory, enforcement and public policy issues integral to today’s homeland security arena. Keynote speakers included former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Dennis Hastert, former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, FEMA Administrator W. Craig Fugate, former Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Kenneth Wainstein, New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, and Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan.

Mark Robertson recently authored a chapter regarding the SAFETY Act for a new publication by the American Bar Association entitled: Homeland Security: Legal and Policy Issues. The book has been referred to as “an important compilation of policy and practice-oriented information pertaining to the Homeland Security Act” and provides a timely analysis of the Congressional and Executive Branch responses to homeland security concerns.
